Dr Sarah Dean is accepting new referrals for psychological treatment.

Dr Laura Bennett is not currently accepting referrals for therapy.  She continues to accept referrals for neurocognitive assessment only.

Sessions can be provided under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative, which means that patients referred under this initiative are entitled to a rebate of $149.05 for up to 10 sessions attended in the calendar year.  A referral from a GP or Psychiatrist is only required if you would like to use a Medicare rebate.  You may also be able to claim a private rebate through your private health insurance.  Please contact your fund about eligibility.

Psychology sessions are typically 50-minutes in duration and cost $265 per session.  Full payment is due at the time of the appointment and if you are entitled to receive a Medicare rebate this will be processed by the practice once fees are paid.  Medicare will deposit the rebate into your nominated bank account.

DVA and Work Cover fees differ from the above and are set in accordance with their annual pricing guides.

Mind Matters Clinical Psychology is not a bulk-billing practice.

Dr Sarah Dean offers psychological assessments for individuals aged 16 years and over.

Referral questions include, but are not limited to:

Do I, or does my loved one, have ADHD?
Am I, or is my loved one, autistic?
Am I anxious and/or depressed, or is something else going on?

A psychological assessment typically requires two to four hours of face-to-face appointment time, spaced across a couple of sessions.  Once face-to-face appointments are complete, a comprehensive report of the assessment process, findings and recommendations is prepared which is provided to the individual (or their parents/caregivers) and the referring doctor, if applicable. A report usually takes 4 to 6 weeks to prepare.

Please contact our clinic for further information.

Dr Bennett offers neuropsychological assessments to individuals aged 5 years and over.

A neuropsychological assessment is a comprehensive evaluation conducted by a board-certified neuropsychologist to assess cognitive, emotional, and behavioural functioning, as well as identify potential neurological differences or impairments.  This assessment involves a comprehensive clinical interview, followed by completion of standardised tests and measures to evaluate various domains such as verbal and visual skills, processing speed, memory, attention, language, problem-solving, executive functions, and mood.  The results provide valuable insights into the individual’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses, aiding in the diagnosis, treatment planning, and rehabilitation of neurological and neuropsychological conditions.

A standard neuropsychological assessment typically requires six hours of face-to-face appointment time, spaced across several sessions.
